Course Description:
The course aims to provide the role of performance measurements in supporting managers in the definition of strategy and in their day-to-day activities.
It is important for firms to generate successful strategic ideas, to motivate managers to implement strategies, to identify and manage strategic risks and, finally, to create stakeholders' trust. In these respects, performance measurements play a crucial role through the reporting systems that serve to communicate actual performance to both managers and stakeholders in a way that fosters learning from experience, supporting the generation of stakeholders' trust.
The course is designed to provide students with the basic conceptual background and analytical tools necessary to analyze and discuss financial statements and evaluate their effects on performance.
We analyze the main concepts of financial statement according to IAS/IFRS framework.
