Course Description:
After completing the course, students will be familiar with the politics, or themes or phenomena typical to contemporary politics, in one or more country or a specific region. They will have an overall understanding of the research literature and approaches of the field, as well as the ability to identify the research methods most commonly used for empirical observation. They will be able to place the subject matter into a broader research-oriented and societal context, understanding its central concepts. Students will be able to follow academic discourse on the subject and participate in related public discourse. They will be proficient in applying the concepts and literature of the field, as well as deepening their expertise through independent observation of the phenomenon examined during the course or a parallel phenomenon, for example, in connection with their bachelor’s thesis.
