Course Description: Content This course provides an overview of the approaches, perspectives, and dimensions of corporate communication in an environment where branding and reputation are paramount. Students will learn about the functions, practices, challenges and opportunities of corporate communication in an international and social-mediated context.. Students will understand and critique the various roles that communication plays in the internal and external relations of organizations through a mix of case studies, course readings, and perspectives from the field. Learning goals Students have knowledge and understanding of: Multiple aspects of corporate communication including: public relations, branding, reputation, crisis communication, social responsibility, and stakeholder management The challenges and developments in the field of scholarship and practice (e.g., with new media technologies, globalization) The professional practice of corporate communication in an international context Students have developed the skills to: Analyze and critically reflect upon corporate communication practices using concepts and theories covered in this course Apply
