Course Description:
English for Natural and Health Sciences is an integrated blended, three-credit online/classroom course designed to develop academic speaking and listening skills for students at the intermediate/advanced level who are interested in using their English to discuss issues in fields such as such as nursing, medicine, dentistry, the sciences, life sciences, biotechnology and bio-systems.
This course takes an integrated skills approach. Class time will focus on the productive skills of speaking and writing as well as analytical approach to listening and reading. Students will learn to critique and analyze written and audio/-visual materials to identify the main components, biases, merit. In addition, students will learn how to lead discussions, develop conversation strategies, give presentations, and understand important points comprehension details in the materials.
