Course Description:
The main objectives of the course are to introduce students to a range of substantive literatures that
attempt to explain and/or understand international relations. It examines specific IR theories such as
realism, liberalism, English School, constructivism, globalization, feminism, post structuralism,
post colonialism and Green theory and competing methodological approaches to the interpretation
and evaluation of political claims and contemporary global events. It also seeks to apply IR theory
to specific cases studies and empirical contexts.
