This unit covers the theoretical and practical aspects of surveying with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), focussing principally on the Global Positioning System. It will demonstrate the mechanics of GNSS data processing using single point positioning, static and kinematic carrier-phase relative positioning, Kalman filtering, real time kinematic (RTK), network RTK and precise point positioning (PPP). It includes comprehensive practical and software training, and online processing.
