Course Description:
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
1. Conceptualize the issue of linguistic minorities in the light of multilingualism and linguistic diversity on the one hand, and to historical-political and socio-economic issues on the other
2. Critically evaluate and objectify minority and majority view on linguistic diversity per case and comparatively evaluate the case of different linguistic minorities, most specifically with regard to Swedish-speaking Finns as a reference of comparison
3. Understand the patters of interlanguage communication in the different cases and relate interlanguage communication the retention of multilingualism and linguistic diversity
