After completing the course, the student has deepened his understanding of the gendered practices and dichotomous concepts of the modernizing society. He is familiar with the many discourses and manifestations of sexuality and the difficulties of the advancement of sexual rights during the "time of extremism" in 20th century Europe. He understands how questions related to sexuality and reproduction are connected to different power relations and how demographic policy goals have directed the state's gaze into bedrooms.
