This course is designed for students who have some knowledge of basic grammar and have already been familiar with hiragana, katakana and some kanji. It aims to develop language proficiency in Japanese, integrating four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The emphasis is put on thorough mastery of basic functional grammar of Japanese through oral practice. Communicative activities that use real life situations are frequently conducted through pair/group work.
