Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of history and memory practices as interconnected fields of engagement with the human past through group discussion and individual writing.
- Read peer-reviewed scholarship, identify key debates and issues pertaining to historical interpretation and memory practices, and evaluate these through group discussion and individual writing.
- Analyze from a critical and informed perspective selected historical topics and memory practices specific to the course focus through group discussion and individual writing.
- Make original connections between different case studies and concepts of history and memory practices introduced in class and course readings through group discussions and individual writing.
- Propose creative or educational projects designed to communicate critical understanding of history and memory practices with a view to public engagement through group discussion and individual projects.
