Course Description:
After completing the course, students will be familiar with the central theoretical and methodological approaches in the study of global media and journalism. They will be able to critically evaluate the role and impact of the media and journalism in international politics and conflicts.
The course examines the role of the media and journalism in international politics and conflicts. The course familiarises students with concepts, phenomena and the research field of global media and journalism, including the discursive and ideological power of the media, the construction of multinational public spheres, information warfare and the mediatisation of international crises.
