In the courses of this course, students will learn to examine the relationship between ethnicity and politics in Asia. Through examples, students will understand how ethnic identity can be defined. They will also be able to identify the factors that politically determine the development and functioning of ethnicity in contemporary Asia. The student will have a basic understanding of the development of society and its institutions in Asia. He/she will understand the role of different cultures in society through examples. The student will be able to analyse the diversity and changes in society in Asia.
