Course Description:
This course is designed for students who have just started learning Japanese, and corresponds to Comprehensive Japanese Level 1. During class, we read Japanese graded readers (JGR SAKURA) which are designed to help learners improve their reading ability and gradually increase their vocabulary by reading books at an appropriate level. Students are expected to read without using a dictionary and to guess the meaning from context. When students meet a new word, they learn the word in class. After reading, students should answer a questionnaire about each story. Then, we will do some group activities, such as vocabulary activities, discussing the story, and writing a book report. After the class, students should take a quiz and dictation practice on Moodle. You will gradually learn new vocabulary and read longer stories. Students can join a group activity and use new words from the stories with classmates.
