This course introduces students to the application of economic theory to health-related markets such as health care markets and insurance markets. Good and services exchanged in those markets are different from other consumer goods. Public agencies as well as private decision-makers play very important roles in the health-related markets. Through a dialogue between theory and empirical analyses, students will learn how policy discussions should be based on health economics.
