The curriculum of this course has been designed from a comprehensive anthropological perspective, with the overarching goal of providing students with a holistic understanding of Spanish culture, the way of life of Spaniards, throughout history and in the present, in its various manifestations. The aim is to offer students a general overview while allowing them to delve deeper into specific topics that are realistically proposed for classroom discussion. Topics include among others: Catholicism in the Shaping of Spanish Identity; Flamenco as a Manifestation of Spanish Culture; Society and Politics in Contemporary Democratic Spain; and Spanish Culture in the New Millennium.
