This course offers an introduction to the discipline of International Relations (IR) through an intensive engagement with world history and concepts that relate to this field of study. The aim is to go beyond a focus on theoretical debates by providing a comprehensive introduction to the way world politics can be studies on the basis of a more historically conscious and conceptually solid perspective. By interweaving relevant history-pertinent and concepts-focused approaches, the course ais to present the students with a well-developed basic knowledge for further studies in IR.
