Course Description:
This course introduces the basics of Japanese linguistics. By taking this course, students will become familiar with the
following aspects of Japanese linguistic properties and be able to understand the unique characteristics of each by
comparing with the ones of their native language. The class will be conducted entirely in English; thus, domestic
students must possess either 500 on TOEFL ITP or must have completed at least one semester of study abroad in
English-speaking countries.
