Course Description:
The course will review basic exchange rate concepts and available instruments in international financial markets. The course will then focus on questions such as an overview of the international financial architecture, foreign exchange market structure, and instruments. We will then investigate how these instruments can be used for, e.g., speculation and hedging in foreign exchange markets. Both theoretical and empirical approaches will be used to answer questions in international finance from the perspective of policy markets, investors, or multinational corporations.
