Country: Australia
Course Title: Migration, Diversity and Social Justice
Course Number: 2550LHS
Course Description: Contemporary societies are more culturally diverse and globally connected than ever before. Millions of migrants worldwide are seeking to join new communities and countries, and governments must plan how to support both new arrivals and long-term residents. This course explores patterns in global migration to understand how people experience belonging and social justice in local spaces. It analyses how we might conceptualize culturally diverse societies through frameworks of justice, diversity and fairness. We also ask why some people see migrants as a threat, and how we might respond and build more inclusive and resilient communities in the future.
