Course Description: Learning outcomes Upon completion the course the student: has conceptual tools to address inequality is able to critically evaluate arguments that justify inequality is aware of the multitude of answers to the question why inequality is wrong is able to apply philosophical discussions of inequality to different forms of inequality such as poverty, racism and gender inequality is able to apply philosophical tools concerning inequality to their own field can critically evaluate the relation between inequality and current social and political crises (such as the climate crisis and the pandemic) understands how inequality is related to socio-political processes such as migration and digitalization in political philosophy. The course develops an understanding of conceptual questions of inequality, helps students provide their own answers as to why inequality is wrong, and furthers understanding on how inequality is related to other socio-political philosophical questions.
