Introduction to Political Economy
Course Description:
Students will look at economic issues of trade, finance, production and development, but not just from the perspective of economic theory. Students will also engage with the political concepts, ideas and literatures on the economic relations within and among states, as well as between states and non-state actors.
The focus is on the political problems that arise as a consequence of the increasing density of economic relations in political life. Knowledge of economics is an advantage but not a necessity for this study-unit.
