Course aimed at providing in-depth knowledge of banks and financial intermediaries, their role in the economy, their specificities, and the regulation that applies to them. In the first part, the course describes banks and financial intermediaries, and the risks to which they are exposed. In the second part, the course presents how banks and financial intermediaries deal with those risks, and the role of regulation. In the last part, the course discusses money and monetary policy, with a particular focus on monetary policy transmission through banks, and decentralized finance.
