This unit assumes no prior knowledge of chemistry and provides a unified introductory course in chemistry as a framework for further studies in chemistry and biochemistry. Topics covered are atomic structure and chemical periodicity, measurement, bonding, oxidation and reduction, acids and bases, precipitation reactions, titrations, phase diagrams, solutions, and gas laws.
