Course Description: Risk is a concept that is a mixture of various mathematical, psychological, social, and cultural factors. Learning the concept of risk is the basis for better understanding of risk management and insurance. Insurance has developed along with human history and is a traditional means of risk management. Insurance responds to risks of all organizations, including not only corporations but also countries and individuals. This lecture explains concept of risk and risk management methods, history of insurance, characteristics of insurance, basic principles of insurance contracts, and insurance products. Also, this lecture explains insurance that responds to recent issues such as digitalization and climate change.
