Course Details

Country: Japan
Course Title: Principles of Macroeconomics
Course Number: ECN305
Course Description: This course will explore Keynesian- and Neo-Classical schools of economics at the level of the aggregate economy, for example, the determination of the level of national income and output, money and inflation, unemployment, interest rates, long-term economic growth, and the role of macroeconomic policy on the economy as a whole. Before we examine these issues in details, I will spend a good amount of time to give you a fundamental idea how economists use some measures to gauge the economy, such as gross domestic product (GDP), unemployment rate, consumer price index (CPI), GDP deflator, etc. Therefore, the materials before first mid-term are the most crucial part before analyzing macroeconomic policies. The tools for teaching this course are primarily graphs, and occasionally equations. Thus, the ability to solve the linear equation is important. These tools will be used to evaluate macroeconomic conditions, monetary and fiscal policies.
