Course Description: The course Neuropsychology explores the brain-behavior relationship. Central topics include the anatomy and workings of the cerebral cortex, limbic system, and various subcortical structures. The role of standardized testing and scanning, such as MRI and PET, is also explored, with an emphasis on their role in the neuroimaging of cognitive functions when diagnosing. The course covers the impact of brain damage and neurological diseases (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, paralysis) on cognitive and emotional functions. The course may also feature discussions about the neuropsychology of the continuous development of the brain and cognitive functions. The curriculum covers neuroplasticity and rehabilitation as well.
