Course Description:
The course starts with the axioms of probability to introduce the probability measure. We will study the basic concepts of random variables, as a measurable function from the probability space, based on the measure theory. Several types of convergence theorems of random variables will be established in the course. Especially, we will discuss the applications of the laws of large numbers and the central limit theorems in preparation for Foundations of Statistics B. Any particular knowledge of measure theory is not assumed, but some prior knowledge will be helpful.
