We will study in this course the history of how the world developed during the past five centuries and became the globalized world today and how the social, economic, cultural and political developments were involved in the course. We will discuss a variety of issues including Early global connections and conflicts; Religious conflicts; economic rivalries; European Imperialism in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia; Independence Wars; World War Iⅈ Cold War; Globalization; Worldwide modern political and social movements.
