Course Description:
Knowledge of the history of the French language, under the double aspect of external history (origins, formation, and extension of French, enrichment, and standardization of French, xvith-xvth century) and internal history (birth and structuring reflection on language, creation of the first dictionaries and grammars). Presentation of modern French, in parallel with some aspects studied in the CM "Language in History": elements for the analysis of the sentence (levels of analysis, grammatical classes and basic syntactic functions) in connection with a reflection grammatical spelling (chords, conjugation); lexical morphology (lexicon formation) centered on the processes of derivation, composition and conversion, to which are added other modes of introduction into the language (borrowing, acronyms, word-suit). The work media are texts of various origins, not exclusively literary.
