Course Description: This course gives students a basic understanding of the functioning of the international system. It introduces key components of the international system namely the state, international organizations and non-state actors. Students are introduced to the concept of foreign policy as well as different theories and analytical methods related to this area of study. Furthermore it provides a basic introduction to positivist International Relations theory. It also introduces some of the methods used to analyse international relations as a whole.
