The course is designed to provide students with a better understanding of the role the media play in various types of political conflicts. The first part of the class is dedicated to learning a theoretical framework that explains how and why the role of the media can vary over time and political circumstances. The course then turns to a discussion of the media’s role in conflicts that range from non-violent protests to all out war.
