Course Description:
This unit introduces mathematical concepts relevant to business and economic applications. The unit begins with elementary calculus covering the basic rules of differentiation for univariate and multivariate functions and their applications, including but not limited to, constrained and unconstrained optimisation. The second part of the unit covers basic probability theory and its applications in statistics. Elementary statistical inference, such as two samples t-test, will also be introduced.
