Course Description:
This course deals with the vast and important area of memory. Memory forms the basis for much of human cognition and behavior. We use our memory not only to remember the groceries we have to buy at the supermarket or to remember where and when to meet a friend, we also need our memory to engage in a conversation, to make calculations, to recognize loved ones, and even to ski downhill. In other words, memory plays an essential role in our daily lives. This becomes even more evident when we consider patients who have severe memory disorders caused by an accident or disease.
