Course Description:
The students of the course, through hundreds of examples drawn from various cultures coming
from different centuries, will come in contact with art and the question “what is art” and use the
criteria provided, for answering it within their own frames of reference. Students through the
semester will gain greater understanding and insight into the process of expressive and artistic
thought and communication which are required for creative and aesthetic awareness.
