Course Description: · Students can explain that in the 19th and 20th century international trade grew much faster than the global economy, that trade and economic growth are related and how the period of the World Wars and the Great Depression undermined this development, and so international trade. · As a consequence, they can recognize the results of political interference in international economic developments. From the 1970s, however, economic globalization recovered. Students can interpret the general development in international trade in the last two centuries, using some basic theoretical concepts on economic trade, open-economy macro-economics, monetary relations, stable and floating currency rates, FDIs.
