Course Title: GLOBAL POLITICAL ECONOMY
Course Number: APOL3540
Course Description: In the era of economic globalization, all economic issues have some international dimension. Unlike the management of the domestic economies, however, there is no supranational authority that can effectively coordinate and regulate the world economy. What are the problems facing the global economy? How have countries (and other entities) dealt with international economic problems? What should be the future form of global governance? This course addresses these questions by examining the history of, and the current issues in, the IPE. Topics include: trade liberalization and protectionism, regionalism, international investments, management of global finance, and economic development.
