Course Description:
This course is the introductory corporate finance course. This course will cover the basic concepts and techniques of financial management. Its purpose is to develop a framework for analyzing a firms investment and financing decisions in order to educate a creative leader with global perspectives. The issues addressed in this course include financial manager`s mission and corporate objective, cash flow estimation, time value of money, discounted cash flows analysis, capital budgeting analysis, relation between risk and return, cost of capital and capital structure decisions. Throughout the course, the emphasis is placed on the understanding of concepts rather than on the memorization of formulas. It forms the foundation for subsequent courses in corporate finance, investments, options and futures, and international finance.
