In this course, we will examine communication as it relates to organizations and organizing. The course will focus on the history, major theories, and contemporary issues and dilemmas of organizations in an international and globalizing environment. Topics covered are communication processes and structure, organizational culture, leadership, branding and identity, power, teamwork, and gender in organizations. Critiques of organizational communication systems, structures and theories are also presented.
