Course Description:
This course provides an overview and application of how companies and organizations are using social media. The course examines key patterns and ongoing challenges in social media marketing based on recent empirical findings, particularly in relation to social media and reputational risk, as well as social customer relationship management. In teams, students will focus on a particular theme and choose a particular company or organization. Then, applying their academic knowledge, they will conduct a practical consulting project. The course cumulates in a pitch to the company (in class) and a final written proposal using insights gained throughout the term. This workshop will be of interest to students keen on entering the private sector as consultants and communication specialists.
