When listening to a UN peace intervention speech or reading an Op-ed piece attacking the exploits of an oil company in Nigeria, you often have a hunch about how well (or how misleadingly) this act of public discourse is construed. When scrolling down that Op-ed piece to see the audiences’ reactions, you equally have a gut feeling about the validity of those reactions. This course helps you to establish a solid backing for these intuitions, enabling a sophisticated critical qualitative content analysis of argumentation in the public sphere. But it will do more.
