Consumers are confronted in their daily lives with numerous marketing actions. Companies and manufacturers use media to pursuade consumers to buy their products or to use their services. To understand the idea behind these communciation messages you will learn in this course different concepts and theories from the behavioral sciences. For example you will learn how consumers make decisions and how they learn and remember information. You will also learn how consumers are persuaded or motivated. Moreover you will learn how consumers form attitudes about products and you will get insight into how all these theories and concepts are used by companies in their media communication and marketing strategies. In this course all students make a personal portfolio of magazine advertisements. Students will analyze these advertisements in order to gain insight into important concepts that are covered throughout the course.
