Course Description: t is often rightly noted that people have more and easier access to information than ever before, and that there is more media created today (often by media users and audiences) than at any point in history. This vast and diverse media content offers an incredible opportunity, but also challenge, to media analysts. Some of the most difficult questions facing media research concern not only how to properly identify critically important media texts, but also how to collect and make sense of patterns that can be observed within and across media. Here, students will be provided scientific and industry-leading methodological tools in order to carry out these tasks, particularly in social media environments.
