Course Description: In this course, we will examine public relations as a meaningful way for organizations to express themselves and engage with stakeholders through dialogue. The course will focus on the history, major theories, and contemporary issues and dilemmas in corporate public relations. Offline and online. Topics covered are: public relations theory, measuring and evaluating public relations, objectives in public relations, cases in crisis public relations, key performance indicators, public relations and social media, dilemmas in transparency. Critiques of public relations, especially on spin doctoring, are also presented.
