Course Description:
This course examines framing theory and discusses its relevance for media and communication studies. During interactive seminars, critical discussions on framing are followed by workshops in which students work on practical challenges in message framing and persuasion. The course assessment consists of two parts: an individual assignment in which the students write an essay on the topic of their own choice and a group assignment in which groups of four to five students select one of the scenarios offered by the lecturer and prepares a PR conference. While, the individual assignment tests theoretical knowledge, the group assignment tests practical knowledge. In both assignments, critical reflection is expected.
