Course Description: In this course, we will cover several security related topics from an interdisciplinary perspective. From an economics point we will discuss the economic drivers and effectiveness of security investments, incentive structures and how they affect corporate strategy, and how scammers and cyber criminals make money. From a behavioral perspective we will cover how to achieve a corporate security culture and the role that employees play in cyber security. From a law perspective we will discuss novel legal instruments such as the possibility for insurance against cyber risks, the option to cover these risks by means of pooling, and the EU data breach notification obligation in the GDPR. Together, this course will provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary overview of the different factors that influence the level of cybersecurity in government and industry.
