Course Description: The small business is the most common type of business in every modern economy, and is not just a scaled-down version of a large business. The course ‘Small Business Economics’ is about the differences between small and large businesses, new business formation, and the role of small businesses and entrepreneurs in markets and economies. Parts of the textbook 'Small business and entrepreneurship' by Storey & Greene (2010) will be covered (this book is also used in the course 'Introduction to Industrial Dynamics and Strategy') as well as some seminal journal articles in the field of entrepreneurship. During the course, students are required to complete two assignments.
