Course Description:
The course primarily deals with literature, but also with films, computer games and other
media forms in which Harry Potter has been depicted. Literary terminology, especially
that which appears within the field of children’s literature, is studied. Previous research
on Harry Potter is studied critically. The course further deals with similarities and
dissimilarities between the Harry Potter books and films from an intermedial
perspective. The Harry Potter phenomenon is also studied from a normcritical power
perspective.
