Course Details

Country: Australia
Institution: Curtin University
Course Title: Calculus I
Course Number: MATH1016
Course Description: This unit builds on students’ knowledge of calculus, further extending to a range of techniques used in solving problems arising from science, engineering and business related fields. Students will extend their differentiation skills to implicit, logarithmic and partial differentiation, and will apply their differentiation techniques to optimisation problems and the approximation of functions. This unit will cover a range of integration techniques, and students will apply these to find volume, length and surface area. Students will also learn to solve a variety of first and second order differential equations, and be introduced to several techniques for testing the convergence of a series. This unit is designed for those students who have passed Mathematics Methods ATAR or equivalent
Language: English
