Course Description: By the end of this course students will be able to: ■ Describe how the field of IPE fits within the broader discipline of IR and point at its linkages to the other fields, such as Economics, Public Choice, and Formal Theory ■ Identify the complex interactions between economic and political factors at the world stage and at the regional level and apply a number of analytical frameworks to study them ■ Assess how international economic exchanges shape policy responses within and among states ■ Assemble a holistic view of economic globalisation and its variegated impacts across developed and developing countries and across certain issue areas, such as labour rights and the environment ■ Formulate and compose reasoned and factually supported arguments
