Course Description: y the end of this course students will be able to: 1. Identify key individuals, events, and turning points in European and global political history since World War II 2. Identify and use some of the key perspectives on, and theories about, political change and democratization developed by social and political scientists. 3. Analyze a variety of arguments about the causes of the rise, consolidation, and crisis of democracies in and outside Europe after World War II 4. Develop and present their own arguments about the causes and consequences of key political episodes in post-1945 history. 5. Connect historical events and figurations to current debate about the state and future prospect of democracy
